Quickbooks to DualEntry Migration Set-up
Quickbooks to DualEntry Migration Set-up
Updated over 2 months ago

Welcome! This guide will help you set up your QuickBooks Online account for a seamless migration to DualEntry. If you're managing multiple QuickBooks accounts, we’ll walk you through giving DualEntry admin access for each entity.

The time to complete the set-up of the Quickbooks Online migration is approximately ~5 minutes.

Overview

Switching from QuickBooks Online to DualEntry is easy. With AI-assisted onboarding, DualEntry can migrate all your historical data, documents, and transactions in as little as 48 hours. Whether you're managing one or multiple QuickBooks accounts, the process ensures that your data stays intact, and no changes are made to your QuickBooks environment.

Once access is granted, DualEntry handles the heavy lifting, from setting up your Chart of Accounts to syncing all your historical data. This onboarding process is secure, fast, and accurate, ensuring compliance with SOC2 standards and AES encryption to protect your data throughout the migration.

If you're managing multiple entities, we will guide you through connecting each QuickBooks account for a streamlined multi-entity experience.

Step-by-Step Guide (~5 mins to complete):

1. Login to QuickBooks Online

Go to quickbooks.com and log in to your account.

2. Access Settings

Click the Gear Icon ⚙️ at the top right of the page.

3. Navigate to Manage Users

4. Add a New User

Click Add User in the top right.

6. Assign Admin Role

Select Company Admin as the role.

7. Send the Invite

Click Send Invite.

8. Logout of QuickBooks

Log out of your Quickbooks account after sending the invite.

What if I manage multiple QuickBooks accounts?

Since QuickBooks Online doesn’t offer multi-entity functionality, you’ll need to repeat the steps above for each QuickBooks account. This ensures that all your entities are successfully migrated into DualEntry.

Data Security and Privacy

Your data’s security is DualEntry’s top priority. When access to QuickBooks is granted, DualEntry creates a direct and encrypted link between the two platforms. No third parties have access to your financial data, and no changes are made to your QuickBooks account. DualEntry uses AES encryption to protect data at rest and in transit, and adheres to SOC2 compliance standards to safeguard your data.

The migration process is entirely automated within DualEntry’s secure environment, with no manual intervention required.

Next Steps

Once you’ve granted access to DualEntry, the migration process begins in the background.

Within 48 hours:

  • Your full data and data history will be securely synced.

  • You will receive a confirmation email as soon as the data migration is complete.

  • Your DualEntry CPA will reach out via email to schedule the remaining migration setup steps, including:

    • Fine-tuning your Chart of Accounts to fit your specific needs.

    • Connecting any additional integrations or software that your business uses.
